How we get this numberStand comfortably with arms by sides
As you inhale, lift the arms in front of you to shoulder-height
Extend the arms out to the side, expanding the chest
Slowly exhale the arms down to the sides
Chest Opening lifts the arms forward to shoulder height, opens them sideways, and then lowers them. The movement explores an open arm position without adding stepping. Watch the change from the forward lift to the sideways opening.
Keep the hands below shoulder level and open through a shorter arc.
Pushing the ribs forward to make the opening larger. Keep the torso upright and let the arms do less.
The app assigns 30 seconds to Chest Opening. Use that as a time block, with pauses whenever you need them. Move at the demonstration’s controlled pace; the timer is not a repetition target. Watch the full movement once before following along.
You will find this movement in Upper Body Opener, at step 8 of 12. It first appears on day 1 of the Standing Beginner 30-Day Plan. The day count below follows the extended version; shorter days can use fewer movements.
