How to do it

  1. Stand with feet apart and knees softly bent

  2. Raise arms as if holding a large ball

  3. Relax shoulders and keep chest open

  4. Breathe slowly and hold the position calmly

About Centered Ball Hold

Centered Ball Hold is a still standing posture with the arms rounded as if holding a large ball. Unlike a flowing arm exercise, it asks you to maintain the shape while noticing shoulder tension and a steady breathing rhythm.

What to focus on

  • Leave room between the arms and chest rather than squeezing inward.
  • Keep the shoulders relaxed as you hold the rounded shape.

Make the movement smaller

Lower the imaginary ball and use less knee bend. Briefly rest the arms if the hold becomes tiring.

A mistake to watch for

Holding the breath to maintain the position. Relax the effort and keep the shape only as long as you can breathe comfortably.

Practice time and pacing

The app assigns 30 seconds to Centered Ball Hold. Use that as a time block, with pauses whenever you need them. Move at the demonstration’s controlled pace; the timer is not a repetition target. Watch the full movement once before following along.

Where you will practice it

You will find this movement in Upper Body Opener, at step 10 of 12. It first appears on day 1 of the Standing Beginner 30-Day Plan. The day count below follows the extended version; shorter days can use fewer movements.
