How to do it

  1. Stand upright with palms facing up in front of chest

  2. Inhale and lift both hands above the head

  3. Stretch upward while keeping spine long

  4. Lower arms outward and return the arms to the sides

About Sky Lift Posture

Sky Lift Posture starts with palms facing up near the chest, lifts both hands, and lowers the arms outward. It has a different return path from an arm lift that lowers directly in front.

What to focus on

  • Keep the spine long as the hands rise.
  • Follow the outward lowering all the way back to the sides.

Make the movement smaller

Lift the hands below overhead height and shorten the outward arc.

A mistake to watch for

Arching the back to gain height. Reduce the reach while keeping the torso upright.

Practice time and pacing

The app assigns 30 seconds to Sky Lift Posture. Use that as a time block, with pauses whenever you need them. Move at the demonstration’s controlled pace; the timer is not a repetition target. Watch the full movement once before following along.

Where you will practice it

You will find this movement in Upper Body Opener, at step 7 of 12. It first appears on day 1 of the Standing Beginner 30-Day Plan. The day count below follows the extended version; shorter days can use fewer movements.
