How we get this numberStabilize your upper body by gripping the sides of the chair.
Extend one leg straight out with your foot engaged and toes flexing up.
Return with control before changing sides.
Reach only as far as feels comfortable while keeping your chest lifted.
Straight Leg Reach extends one leg with the toes flexing upward while the hands support the seated position. The other leg remains available for support as you return and change sides.
Straighten the knee only partway and keep the foot close to the floor.
Leaning backward to hold the leg higher. Reduce the extension rather than changing the seated position.
The app assigns 30 seconds to Straight Leg Reach. Use that as a time block, with pauses whenever you need them. Move at the demonstration’s controlled pace; the timer is not a repetition target. Watch the full movement once before following along.
Set a firm chair on a nonslip surface and leave room for the arm and leg movements shown. A chair without wheels keeps the setup steady.
You will find this movement in Chair Wake-Up, at step 10 of 14. It first appears on day 1 of the Seated Beginner 30-Day Plan. The day count below follows the extended version; shorter days can use fewer movements.
